Nice looking force.

Looks like he got stomped in the first 2 games. Rolled up by TH/SS Termies both times. Hard to tell how he did vs. the Necrons. While Edwin already said he lost to these guys.

The first 2 games were rough. The terminators in both games survived plasma and railgun shots far more then they should have and in the second game when the kroot got charged they rolled double 1's on their lds. test so that the termies couldn't be shot on my turn and in turn got to charge again on Wil's next turn.

I did really well against the necrons. If it had been the 5x5 system I would have won outright but ended with a minor victory.

Thanks. It was my first ever painted army. :)

Couple things:

-Why Team Leaders on the Crisis squads? Maybe it's just the notation, but if you're not giving them any Hard-wired gear, it seems like a pretty pointless upgrade.

-How do you like the Commander + Bodyguard setup? I haven't tried it out, since I'm unsure if getting the +1BS on the squad is worth the extra 20 pts each.

@Puppy: the team leaders are 5 points for wound allocation shenanigans. IMO a great buy as you can take an extra regular wound before losing a guy, and you can stack a couple insta death wounds on the TL depending on how things come in.

Hmmm, fair enough, I hadn't really considered that angle on things. Most of my local tournaments are 1500, so I'm scraping on points just to get three squads of XV8s into my list at all, much less give them upgrades. Seems like a pretty good plan, though.

At 1500 points, you are really only outclassed by IG and Dark Eldar.  They have better point efficiency, but not by much.  If either go mech and you can get shots on them...you can seriously dent them before they zap you.  Everyone else, well, just in for a bad time really.

I wouldn't take the bodyguards at anything less then 2500 points. The only reason I took them was to get more suits for extra plas/pods. The targeting arrays were just for concistency with the hq.

At 1500 I wouldn't take the team leader upgrade. Not many armys have the shot output to just wipe out a suit squad with instadeath weapons, but if you have 15 extra points its not terrible.
