So, I was testing out IE8 today.
I click the comments section on BOLS and it crashes repeatedly. Hopefully they'll fix that, and man up and 'unban' me. Not that banning anonymous users stops them from posting.
Ah well. I've decided Disqus is one horrible program. Well that and the ebay ads, man that makes every site that has that crap run like dogshit. lol must be the javascript, if you look at it it's...well, it makes me sad. I was thinking maybe I might try Intense Debate. Sad thing is, I don't want all of my old comments hidden (ID) or blown away (Disqus).
I guess freely expressing yourself in another forum isn't allowed by BOLS. Tsk tsk.
Note I don't ban people here, although comments like 'you are a douchebag' usually don't get past my filter (which is me). I get to hear all the craptastical bitchings and rantings directed my way, but since most are hate-filled diatribes I don't put them up unless I'm highly amused or trying to prove a point.
Anyway, I wonder if they realize it's not about them, it's about the rest of us not losing our AB files because of anyone else making money off of GW's products--they aren't the first people I've had worries about and certainly won't be the last. Why doesn't BOLS host their own files for their own codices for their own tournament on their own site? Liability? What is it? You can host AB files in google docs and share it with the world.
Google doesn't care about bandwidth obviously, and I don't care about money.
Btw, InPrivate is neat. Let's you pretty much bypass almost all pettiness on the internetz.
Random crap:
Been playing DoW2 on Primarch mode. Makes a dull game even more boring. Oh please let me spend 25 minutes running like a pussy from a ravener. That's sure loads of fun.
Anyone else notice the 'equip' sound in DoW2 is the exact same as that in Chaos Gate? Nice touch, if a bit cheap.
Anyway I think if a MMO comes out with the DoW2 character screen and trait systems with a bit more personalization...man, lots of motherfuckers will be playing that shit. lol
So back to the random subject, anyone know a good way to get a better comment system in place without blowing up the old comments? Lemme know.
I've been trying different site upgrades, had a few planned for months but this weekend is my first 'free' weekend in a long time. lol
