A nice list, but I'm not convinced it would scale very well. Why the fuck are people sending in requests for SW when the new Dex is out on the 3rd of October?!?
Where's the 3rd HQ? 2 WGBL is enough for 1500, but there's got to be a Ven Dread or something for 2k.
I read this list 3 times, so if I missed it I'm blind lol.
It looks cool but: Why the 3 WolfGuard Battle Leader? I think that you could get away with 2
Why no exterminator?
Also, doesn't this list have a lot of kill points? or is the goal to table the opponent?
Another Also, when possible could you do a Black Templars for Ard Boys; preferably mech?
Why bring an exterminator? For fluff reasons? There is a points shortage in the list because of the required 3 HQ's (which are there, and are required) and the LRC + MB equipped blood claws.
The points are off in army builder for rhinos and razorbacks. You still have to pay the points out of the SW codex for them. The nice side is you get cheap extra armour on all your vehicles.
Ryan: Are they? Who knew. My question is, if you are supposed to use the points for razorbacks, how do you pay for the new weapon options?
Can you quote me where it says that? I mighta missed it in the SW FAQ.
Here are some quotes from Codex: Space Wolves p. 10.
For Grey Hunters "Transport Vehicle: The entire squad may be mounted in a Rhino at an additional cost of +50 points or a Razorback at an additional cost of +70 points (see Transport entry for upgrade options)."
For Blood Claws "Transport Vehicles: Certain Space Wolves squads can take a Rhino or a Razorback as a transport vehicle. Details of these vehicles can be found in Codex: Space Marines. Note that the only unit that may embark on the transport is the unit it was bought as an upgrade for, plus any characters that have joined that unit (ie, transport vehicles do not provide a taxi service for the entire army!)."
The rules as written (quite poorly in this case) state that one must pay 50/70 points for a Rhino/Razorback and follow the rules out of the most recent Codex: Space Marines for upgrades. At least you get smoke launchers for the 15 point difference. Not to mention your Rhinos can only cart around the squad they were bought for plus any characters that join them. When it comes to transports, Fenris is the land of yellow snow.
Ah, what would it be like to have an actual FAQ/Errata that fixes books straight away...
