Thanks again for your blog-tons of hard work and good food for thought!

I need some help with a 1500 and 2000 pt Dark Elf list. There seems to be alot of choices and i seek out your expert advice. I really like the Black guard with the ASF banner and the War Hydra. I also don't mind rolling for stupidity on the COK-great models. I am also thinking going magic heavy for the 2000 pt list, ie lv 4 mage for the lord.

After re-listening to your guest spot review of the army book on TWIWG awhile back, I know your the man to help out with advice !

Total Roster Cost: 1999

Sit all the Heroes and General in the Spear unit.

You have high MR (free 4 MR on that unit) and 3 close range items to discourage those wanting to get close to you.

Your only weakness is from large template weapons, but you can negate that by simply lining up 15 in the front rank. Yeah, silly, but you don't really want people hitting 20 guys with stone throwers.

Anyway you aren't going to move much, so....feel free to zap the crap out of people and when/if they get close, you can reform ranks without losing anything.

Hatred with spears is highly amusing though.

This army relies on magic and shooting to get the job done.

The cavalry units are there because they are so good, so cheap, such nice models, and in the end...you do need something for the other guy to play with/fear a bit, while you destroy his army.
